I saw Damn Fine restaurant from Check, Please! Bay Area show on KQED Channel 9. This features ordinary diners reviewing local restaurants. The review was good. So I made a reservation for party of 3 plus our small fur friend poodle mixed (ESA) for Thursday at 12:30 pm. I spoke with Ryan and he was nice on the phone despite a few tried calls as they were busy. We arrived for our lunch today. Ryan showed us our table by the window. He said if the sun bothers us, we can pull the blinds down. The dining room is decent sized and clean. They have outdoor dining too. There is a bar with a nice wall light fixtures. The restroom is designated for common use and clean. He gave us a bottle of water to drink already with menu. He asked if it is our first time dining at the restaurant. And we said yes. I mentioned to him how I saw the restaurant. He said the show was filmed on the back room and he was there serving. Ryan mentioned they open the back room at dinner only. He recommended drinks and pizzas that are the favorite order and what he likes as well. We ordered two Laughing Monk Pilsner - Draft. He said it is brewed in San Francisco. My husband just ordered Sprite. To start we ordered the Cauliflower Fritti to share. It was delicious with a kick of spicy aioli. Then we ordered Alotta Burrata and Sausage & Sage pizzas. The pizzas were served with thin and crispy crust. My husband noticed the bottom crust was not crispy enough. However, we enjoyed a variety of pizzas with different toppings. Each topping introduced a unique flavor that can excite the palate. Ryan visited our table and asked how we were doing. Overall, we enjoyed the food, nice ambiance and pleasant service of Ryan. I recommend Damn Fine for a great spot for a casual and enjoyable meal with family and friends.

Damn Fine really was, well, damn fine. Came on a Saturday night and found street parking around the corner. There was a corner table inside that sat empty for the 15+ minutes we were waiting by the door, while the hostess was more focused on getting takeout orders and checks settled for the two-person tables. Eventually, our party of four was given the corner table, after the miscalculations for a patio table were finally resolved. We were five minutes away from simply walking out due to the poor service. Overall, I give this place a four because the pizzas were truly quite good and the menu even had specific markings for local, natural wines. Cool. Try the "Pig In The Woods" and thank me later. But maybe try to avoid the host table unless you want to be ignored too.

We decided to take this pizza to go and have a picnic at the gold gate park! First the location was great! The take out order was ready in 45 minutes on a Friday night. We all LOVED our pizza! The crust/dough is really something! Flavorful and perfect texture! Was so happy with our choices because everything was delicious. The restaurant had a vibrant atmosphere and was already packed at 5:15pm on a weekend. Will come back for dine in or take away. Reservations recommended

It's good pizza hands down. I've been a couple times already and rather it's crispy or a little greasy than usual it is still a good pizza!

Neighborhood gem of a spot. Pretty packed on a Tuesday night, but that's to show how popular this place is. There was no seating when we arrived, but they have a backyard patio which is pretty spacious, plus covered and heated. We ordered a Cesar salad and Margherita pizza with some pepperoni and burrata. The pizza crust is on the thinner side but it's nice and saucy. The Cesar salad came with a real anchovy on top.

My friend and I were looking for a pizza place with vegetarian options today when we came across Damn Fine. We ordered the purple potato pizza not realizing that there was meat on top, and when the pizza came out, I realized that the pizza was sprinkled with little meat bits. After we told our waiter, they quickly replaced our potato pizza without the meat and they were so kind and reassuring about not double checking our mistake. I definitely appreciate the business for taking care of us and I was grateful that they gave us the best service possible. The pizza was delicious, really thin and the perfect size to share with a friend. I can't wait to come back here and try their other toppings! Thank you Damn Fine for your great service and delicious pizza!

Wow....DAMNFINE is officially one of my new favorite pizza places. My partner and I have a tradition of celebrating Valentine's Day a week after so that we can avoid the crowds, and I'm so glad we went here. It was still very busy on a Thursday night, but we were able to get seated quickly. The customer service was fantastic, everyone was so kind and welcoming, as well as having great recommendations for what to eat. We started with the Desert Rose and California Super Bloom cocktails, and they were both so refreshing and strong. We ordered the Pig in the Woods and well as the Alotta Burrata, and we were so glad we ordered these two. Both were fantastic, but if I could only get one I would easily go with the Alotta Burrata (I am still dreaming about it right now). This restaurant has an amazing aesthetic and great quality food, which made the bit of a higher price point worth it. I cannot wait to go back.

TLDR: Superlative service, upscale cozy ambiance, good wood-fired pizza with a chewy semolina flour crust. Quality Pasta and salad selections too! We came here on a whim one busy Friday evening, and though the restaurant seemed packed with the front room rather loud inside, we were greeted and seated within three minutes upon getting past the door. Everyone on staff was extra friendly and treated us like old regulars! We sat in the covered rear dining area which has heat lamps to keep you warm. The menu isn't huge but here you have the basics covered - salads, appetizers, pizza and a few pasta choices. Between those, we chose the following: The Grinch Pizza: Creamy pesto, Brussels sprout leaves, apple, gorgonzola, mozzarella, provolone, garlic, pistachios The Grinch sounded great, but the flavor a of the gorgonzola and Brussels sprouts overpowered all the other ingredients. I was hoping for the pesto to be more dominant, instead the pizza comes across your palate more like a Gorgonzola-apple salad, so set your expectations correctly for this one! Margherita Pizza - on point. Good Mozzarella. Like the Grinch, we enjoyed the chewy semolina-based flour crust on this a lot too! Bucatini Pasta with Meatballs - loved the pasta & sauce. meatballs were ok. Loved the friendly caring professional staff here the most! They really make you feel welcome!

Damn Fine has become my favourite pizza spot in San Francisco. There are few places I would drive this far out of the way for pizza but Damn fine is one of them. The mushroom dream is our typical order but all the pizzas are good. Got to try the sandwiches for the first time and the fried chicken sandwich is great. Pastas are also good but the pizzas are really what you want. There is usually some type of fried appetiser on the menu and I haven't been disappointed when I have ordered one of those whether it's zucchini, calamari or green beans it's always been good.

I've been wanting to come try the pizzas for quite awhile. That opportunity was Tuesday night. I made a Resy reservation for 5:30pm party of three dine in. I didn't have an opportunity to change my reservation to party of two as daughter opted out due to illness. The hostess offered hubby & myself a table in the outdoor patio as there weren't any appropriate tables for two in the dining room. I asked if it was enclosed. Yes with patio heating. We asked to sit at the bar instead. Hubby & I recognized the footprint. It used to be a restaurant called Pisces. We don't recall a disco ball tucked above in the rafters. There's a ceiling fan and the dining room ceiling has been opened up exposing the beams. Ordered - * calamari - came hot to the table. Great aioli sauce with a bit of fire. * pepperoni thin crust pizza- cut into six slices. The pepperoni was thinly sliced. And somewhat crunchy. * hazy IPA on draft * henhouse canned beer. I had the hot honey side. I laced it over my slice of pizza. $2.00 for a small saucer. Hubby had chili flakes which he sprinkled over his pizza. Great attentive service. Being a cold January it was a little nippy for me. I kept my jacket on the whole time. There's also tables on the sidewalk but I can't imagine anyone eating on the street without patio heat lamps. It was nice sitting at the bar.
